Psychiatric Services

Physician-led psychiatric care, built around you.

Comprehensive evaluation, medication management, psychotherapy and trauma-informed treatment for appropriate adolescent and adult patients located in Massachusetts or California.

Treatment Philosophy

Trauma-informed care, defined.

Treatment that recognizes how traumatic experiences affect the whole body and offers a comprehensive treatment process focused on mood, sleep, exercise, nutrition, memory, relationships, concentration and physical health — paced with consent and clarity.

Care begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. Because Dr. Abdool provides both prescribing and psychotherapy, treatment can be held by a single physician who understands the medical and psychological picture together.

Care considers eight interconnected areas of health. Treatment is individualized, so the areas emphasized depend on each patient's needs.

Mood & thought

Symptoms, emotional patterns, concentration and how they change over time.

Sleep & rest

Sleep quality, timing and recovery — often the first system stress disrupts.

Exercise & movement

How much movement your week actually holds, and what is realistic to build on.

Nutrition

Appetite, eating patterns and nutritional support where it is clinically relevant.

Therapy

Talk therapy, including trauma narrative and psychodynamic work, when it is indicated.

Medication when needed

Prescribed and monitored deliberately, with the reasoning explained to you.

Stress & trauma

Current pressures and past experiences treated as clinical information, not background.

Physical health

Medical history, pain, energy and other physical findings that shape mental health.

What We Provide

An extended first appointment that reviews symptoms, history, trauma, stress, physical health and daily life before any treatment plan is formed.

Individual Psychotherapy

Structured talk therapy delivered by a physician who also understands the medical picture, including trauma narrative and psychodynamic approaches.

Trauma-Informed Care

Treatment that recognizes how traumatic experiences affect the whole body and offers a comprehensive treatment process focused on mood, sleep, exercise, nutrition, memory, relationships, concentration and physical health — paced with consent and clarity.

Maternal Mental Health

Perinatal & Postpartum Mental Health

Pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period can bring significant emotional, physical and psychological changes. Beryllium provides individualized psychiatric care for patients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, mood changes and other mental health concerns during pregnancy and after childbirth.

Beryllium is also committed to Black maternal mental health — care that recognizes the unique stressors, disparities and lived experiences that can affect Black mothers and their families. This is a commitment of the practice and an area of Dr. Abdool's professional work, not a diagnosis.
